The Association was formed in 1990 at the Chateau de Brecourt, Normandy France by a small group of practising accountants who considered that a network of independent accountants throughout Europe would bring benefits and opportunities to both themselves and their clients in meeting the challenges facing cross-border trading and ventures.

The increasing importance of Europe as a single trading entity in a world economy requires a broad range of professional services to support the needs of industry and commerce and particularly in the small to medium sized business community.

The Association now comprises of auditors, tax consultants, consultants and lawyers working in harmony to meet clients needs whilst remaining independent. Members meet regularly in conference throughout Europe to share knowledge and to develop services and financial products to meet the challenges of international trade and business planning.

The association's mission is: "To provide Pan-European professional services to members and clients"

The strength of the Association is the independence of its members (who in many cases are leaders in their field) and the close working relationship that exists between the senior professionals in each member firm together with their ability to work and communicate effectively and efficiently across all European borders.

Relationships with other international groups are being developed.
